How TaB is Used: Data Collection
All staff members log their time daily using Apple iCal or Palm Desktop. iCal uses are setup to auto-sync with a local WebDAV server anytime they make a change in iCal. Palm Desktop users export and email their time data to the system at the end of each working day.
How TaB is Used: Data Retrieval
TaB is setup to siphon information from the WebDAV server daily at 9 AM, 12 noon, 3 PM, 6 PM and 9 PM. Project managers are notified of any budgets problems at these times.
How TaB is Used: Reports
Project managers know the financial status of all projects at all times. Any budgets problems become visible very early, and can be addressed before they become critical.
Select clients are able to login and review their projects-in-progress. This is a great selling feature for the graphic design firm, and helps to differentiate this firm from their competition.
A friendly reminder is sent to any staff members who have not submitted time within the past 48 hours. This helps to keep all time and budget information up-to-date and timely.
Time sheet data for each employee is exported at the end of each month and sent to PayChecks, where the data is used to streamline monthly payroll.
Licensing Options and Cost
Two licensing options make sense for this type of implementation. Small self-employed or small office workgroups, with limited technical resources, the Small Business Solution is best. For offices with savvy web server and database specialists on staff, the Enterprise Solution will allow the firm to save money long term.
