How TaB is Used: Data Collection
All staff members log their time daily using Apple iCal or Palm Desktop. iCal uses are setup to auto-sync with a local WebDAV server anytime they make a change in iCal. Palm Desktop users export and email their time data to the system at the end of each working day.
Note: The company secretary does not log time, and does not need a TaB license. However, this person does have full access to the system in order to review reports. Only users who use TaB to track their time need to purchase a license.
How TaB is Used: Data Retrieval
TaB is setup to siphon information from the WebDAV server hourly between 9 AM and 11 PM every day except Sunday. Project managers are notified of any budgets problems as soon as they occur.
How TaB is Used: Reports
Project managers and staff know the financial status of all projects at all times. Any budgets problems become visible very early, and can be addressed before they become critical. Select clients are able to login and review their projects-in-progress.
A friendly reminder is sent to any staff members who have not submitted time within the past 48 hours. This helps to keep all time and budget information up-to-date and timely.
Time sheet data for each employee is exported at the end of each month and sent to Automated Payroll Services, where the data is used to streamline monthly payroll.
